Get Into The Groove
I don’t care what anyone thinks the song ‘Get Into The Groove’ from the soundtrack from Madonnas iconic movie ‘Desperately seeking Susan is a dance floor killer!
Admittedly, I am not the biggest cheesy pop fan but the music and fashion nostalgia the movie brings is insane.
Get Into The Groove Nostalgia
Let me take you back to the days of the 80’s if I may.
If only I knew then what an iconic era I grew up in.
The music and fashion influencers of those days were enjoyed by all generation’s all over the land. Something that is profoundly missing these days (How old do I sound?)
Culture Club, Aha ( Morten Harket was my pin up ), Prince, Tears For Fears, Whitney, George Michael and the list of course goes on.
Morten Harket
I’m proud to say my 17 yr old daughter Kia has begun to appreciate some of the classics from the 80’s and the 90’s.
It brings me such a feeling of total joy when I hear her playing classics from my school and college days.
80’s family playlist
It’s a shame not many kids these days aren’t exposed to the old tunes enough to appreciate them.
So, of course I thought I would be a little indulgent and put together a little cheeky 80’s family playlist. Songs all generations in my family and friendship groups enjoyed partying to (and my family loved to party) especially back then.
So get your Pina colada’s at the ready or a can of Skol if your prefer and enjoy!
1 Chaka Khan – I Feel For You
2 Luther Vandross – Never too much
3 UB40 – I got you babe
4 Tina Turner – What’s love to do with it
5 Madonna – Holiday
6 Janet K – Silly games
7 Lionel Richie – All night long
8 Alexander O’Niel – Criticise
9 Boris Gardiner – I wanna wake up with you
10 Micheal Jackson – Billie Jean
The 80’s was a fab era. I am glad to say that my girls both love the music from then and the 90’s. I sound old saying it but it is much better than the music that’s in the charts now x
