Family Fun day pumpkin picking | Pumpkin Patch MK
On Sunday afternoon Sean and I had fun with Cuba and Coco-Ivy visiting pumpkin picking at The Pumpkin Patch MK in Milton Keynes. It is the first year the event is being held at the Mount Mill farm, Deanshanger in Buckinghamshire.
Who organises the event?
The pumpkin patch is the brainchild of the Gurney family, who have farmed in the Buckingham area for the previous four generations. Farmer Joseph Gurney and his wife Rosalyn found the inspiration in their own challenges in finding fun things to do with their own children Bruce aged 3 and Tilly aged 5.
So, they decided to ‘mix business with pleasure’ providing families an opportunity to a ‘unique attraction that balances the beauties of being in the open countryside on a working farm, the joy of being able to pick your own pumpkin direct from the field and the fantastic fun for both young and old’.
How much does it cost?
This free event is open throughout October and there’s a choice of attractions for the kids and adults to enjoy all for an additional cost, such as, face painting, locally produced food and refreshments. There’s also a professional outdoor photograph studio and a barrel ride.
The 100 Bale Straw Maze
The Bale Maze was definitely Cuba’s favourite part of the day
There are so many pumpkins to choose from across a vast space in the field
Such a stunning autumnal sight of all the beautiful pumpkins spread around the patch
The pricing is according to the size and colour of your chosen pumpkin
This huge Pumpkin sign is the perfect photo opportunity
The atmosphere was amazing as all the families were enjoying time together in the beautiful and natural environment
Cuba enjoyed the barrel ride
The farms four legged resident accompanied the kids on the ride
More fun photo opportunities
Here’s my youtube video, take a peek and see some of what we got up to

Final thoughts
We thoroughly enjoyed our lovely afternoon, we were so lucky as the weather was perfect. It was a unique opportunity for the children to explore and run around freely on the field. Many thanks to the Gurney family for hosting this amazing event, hope to see you next October.
Has anyone else been to a pumpkin patch? I would love to hear from you.
Lot’s of love
