Hello! This Is Me

 

This October I am taking part in the Dream Team Linky #Blogtober20 which I first heard of last year .

So, I will be attempting to publish a blog post everyday following a prompt set by Mandi from Big Family Organised Chaos .

And the first prompt today is This is me.

So this is me, Dana the face behind my blog A Mamanista Life.

 I am an unorganised newbie to this challenge however, I weirdly look forward to testing myself under pressure.

This month is also my 2nd blogging anniversary which has come by pretty quickly.  I have to admit I had many plans for year 2 of my blog however, with a bout of ill health in the family, moving house and of course a global pandemic, I have been finding it difficult to stick to the plan.

However, moving forward I can’t think of a better way to get my blogging mojo back on track than taking part in the Blogtober Linky challenge.

 

‘This Is Me”

 

I don’t usually solely write just About Me, as a mama of 3 I find it is second nature to talk about the kids.

So I will trey and keep it short and snappy!

 

I’m Dana a forty seven year old dedicated mama to a 17 year old daughter, an 8 year old son and our very own 4 year old little princess.

My partner in crime is Sean, who is also my biggest blogging supporter. We have been living together for twelve years.

I do enjoy being a forty something mama however, I sometimes forget I’m a forty something mama (I still think I’m in my twenties), where does the time go?

 

How Old?

 

I’m a gobby lass from up north who enjoys having a laugh and a good natter.

I’m quite partial to a large glass of Rioja, a bit of a foodie, oh and a frustrated fashionista! I am also learning the importance of self care.

I am also a self confessed camera mama and I know I need to get in front of the lens more, which I am working on!

 

Leeds born and bred

 

Born and bred in Leeds, a place that will always be my home wherever I may be.

I come from a very large blended family with Jamaican and English roots.

I am an everyday mama dreaming of a tidy home and I am in need of a lie in!

I look up to strong ambitious female role models from all walks of life like Michelle Obama, Katie Piper, Nicola Adams and Megan Markle.

My professional background has been varied and includes fashion retail, being a London nanny, and working in childcare and family services. Both fashion and children have been my passion, so it’s no surprise to my family and friends that they have been my focus in life.

 

I have loved creating my own parenting & lifestyle blog, which I began with a desire to create a visual diary. It has been a wonderful outlet capturing the everyday wonderfulness and challenges of our family life and friendships. It is also, a special keepsake for my children to treasure.

The kids really enjoy reading the blog and at times they have totally involved themselves in it.

 

 

 

I have enjoyed promoting my brand and watch it grow, which has given me some wonderful opportunities.

I have met some amazing mamas on the way, whom have quite literally blown my mind.

I have many blogging plans for the future and it turns out, I really do enjoy social media. Especially instagram where I have developed some genuine friendships especially with other mamas.

Blogging has given me endless inspiration both creatively and spiritually and for that I am truly grateful.
